Hello everyone,
Wishing everyone who celebrates Easter a great holiday weekend :)
The background for this card is one of my very first experiments using molding paste and stencils. The background colour was created with Dylusions Ink Sprays. I then ripped up some decorative paper from Tim Holtz and brushed on the paper pieces with Golden Gel Medium (Regular Gel Matte). For the next layer I borrowed a friend's stencil and used a palette knife to apply Golden Light Molding Paste. When dry I did something strange and tried adding colour to the dots with Pan Pastels. It seemed to work but I wasn't happy at all with the colour choice and had no idea what to do with it next. The background sat for a couple of months unfinished until I made Butterfly Fish for another card. It didn't work for the card that I was thinking of but was just the touch I needed for this one.
The little bit of orange that I had used on the fins made it stand out and gave a little life to the colour palette in the background. Butterfly Fish was coloured with Tombow markers and highlighted with a Sakura white gel pen.
It wasn't until the whole card was finished that the dots started looking like strands of fish eggs. I imagined the Butterfly Fish guarding her young. To accentuate this idea I used Stickles to dot the centres of a few of the "eggs".
Sometimes creations really take on a life of their own. I like that.
Bye for now :)

Sunshine!
Hello everyone,
I can't believe how sunny and warm it is outside today! Finally!!! I must have walked down my street with the biggest smile on my face. This is a card that I made a little while ago. It reminds me of summer so I thought I would share it today.
I used Flying Hummingbird 3 and Striped Reed Set from my collection.
I've been using the same formula for my cards lately so my process for this card is similar to the last few that I've posted. Dylusions Spray Ink background. The tribal stencil is from The Crafter's Workshop.
I coloured Flying Hummingbird 3 with Tombow markers and blended the colours with water. I then added Stickles around his face to capture the iridescence that make hummingbirds seem like flying gemstones.
I also sporadically added Stickles to the background and coloured the leaves of Striped Reed Set with a green Tombow marker. To add some dimension to the card I popped up Flying Hummingbird 3 with some adhesive foam. Viola! C'est fini!
Hope you like it :)

Jane's take on Rising Bubbles. Her blog post HERE with more close up shots of the great details in this piece.
Heike has done an amazing job of cutting out Seaweed Set (bottom right) and has used Rising Bubbles in the background. Her blog post HERE has many other projects using Original Rust (used on the anchor). Neat effect!
The last two pieces are by Sonja for a Gelli Plate workshop. She used Rising Bubbles in the first and Water Droplets 2 in the second card. You can check out her blog post HERE
Lastly, some of the happiest raindrops I've ever seen! Cornelia's blog post HERE
Hope you enjoyed this gallery. There sure are a lot of talented people out there. Keep on creating :)
